Hi All

I was on this site a year or so ago but dropped off. I was AngieC12 then if anybody has a good memory. I gained promotion, moved house, office etc. and of course took a while to recover from the upheaval. Still miss my family & friends terribly but I have been here 11 months now and just about settled.

Still have RA of course, now Fibromyalgia is competing with it for attention. Happy(ish) on Hydroxy and Naproxen. Just coming out of a mean flare.

Really missed being able to chat with people about the syndrome (I read somewhere it was a syndrome rather than disease - maybe I shall start a topic about that).

Hope I can get away with being a ReNewed member.

Hi Angie,

Welcome back!! I`m not surprised it took you a while to recover from all that upheaval - hope work is going well.

Welcome back Angie!

I'm Helly, 35yrs old and live in Leicestershire. I was born with juvenile idiopathic arthritis which wasn't diagnosed until just before my 3rd birthday. It went into remission when I was 12, thanks to a combination of methotrexate & deflazacort. There it stayed until September last year but luckily got onto hydroxychloroquine quite quickly so its starting to get back under control

ThumpUp

Looking forward to seeing some more of your posts xx

Thanks all for the welcome back. ThumpUp

I am looking forward to getting into the forums again, especially the letting off steam and the funnies.

Suzanne: It's tricky, but when you are typing, you can move the side bar at the very right hand side of the screen, you can then see the earlier posts and use the side bar next to the messages to move the messages upwards (it goes backwards). You shouldn't need to close the reply at all then. Easy to do but very hard to explain!

Thanks again for the welcome - I will be watching for your posts. Love the new 'straplines' we can put after our names, and I agree about the shoes, although with RA that can be a bit restricted!

Hi Angie

Welcome back! I guess you joined during my absence ... been on the forum for a few years but took a break (lots of reasons!). Certainly sounds as though you have been busy recently!

I'm Lyn, married to Mike, we have four children, Abby 22, Ian and Jake 17, and Louis 15. All four in various stages of education! We live in Thornton Cleveleys in north west Lancashire. I was diagnosed with sero-negative RA 22 years ago and have since run the gamut of medication and had several surgical procedures along the way. Currently on Enbrel, Prednisolone and Naproxen and a jolly assortment of pain killers! Just trying to get a recent flare under control after cessation of methotrexate (due to neutropenia) and temporary stoppage of Enbrel for an op. All good fun isn't it ... ?!! Heyho!

I do voluntary work to keep myself occupied and although at times it stresses me out (especially when I want to do things and the body says no!) it has been a lifeline and help me keep a modicom of sanity. I had to take medical retirement from my job as a manager of a Legal Aid office some 20 years ago so being able to feel 'useful' still is reward in itself.

Look forward to getting to know you Angie,

Lyn x

Nice to hear from you - I still count myself as very lucky that my RA/Fibromyalgia is currently pretty mild. Although I can't do as much as I used to I can still walk, gym and work full time at the mo. It is a bit of a fight and I do get down about it. Especially as my Line Manager is nice but a tad difficult to manage! Not surprisingly just doesn't get the idea of RA.

Suzanne - I understand! So hard to explain without pointing at the bits you need! Blink
